Speaker Bios:

Michael Jones - President, The Security Network

Michael is President of The Security Network, a San Diego-based network focused on security technologies, and the affiliated The Maritime Alliance. Michael is also President of ProFinance® Associates, Inc., an investment banking firm (Broker-Dealer firm – member of FINRA/SIPC) headquartered in San Diego that has focused on the security industry since its inception in 1985. Michael has sat on a number of corporate Boards of Directors nationwide. In San Diego, on the non-profit side, Michael sits on the Advisory Board of the San Diego Chapter of AUVSI (Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International), the Board of the San Diego chapter of MTS (Marine Technology Society) and at San Diego State University sits on the Advisory Boards of the EMC (Entrepreneurial Management Center) and the College of Engineering, and lectures periodically in the College of Business.

Bruce Roberts - Senior VP, Security Systems, Cubic Corporation

Bruce D. Roberts is Senior Vice President of Security Programs for Cubic Corporation.  In this position, Mr. Roberts is responsible for expanding the Corporation’s position in Homeland Security and related markets, coordinating the efforts of the subsidiaries.  He joined the company in May 1997. Prior to the reorganization and consolidation of subsidiaries at Cubic, Roberts held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Cubic Defense Systems, Inc.   He also served as Vice President and MILES 2000 Program Director.

Before joining Cubic, Roberts was Senior Vice President and group manager with Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC).  He previously held executive positions with Unisys Corp. and General Electric. Roberts is a Senior Advisor for the Security Network, a mentor for EvoNexus, an incubator established by CommNexus and on the board of the San Diego Military Advisory Council. Roberts is a graduate of St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., where he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in mathematics with physics and economics minors.  He obtained his Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Florida. A native of upstate New York, Roberts and his wife, Sandra, live in San Diego, Calif.  They have three children.
